Couple questions: Honeymoon planning
Will we have phone signal and Wi-Fi on a Morocco honeymoon?
In the cities and on the main roads, yes. Morocco's 4G network is fast across Marrakech, Fes, Casablanca, Rabat and Tangier, and good riads have free Wi-Fi. Signal thins in the High Atlas passes and the deep Sahara. Most luxury desert camps have little or no Wi-Fi by design, so plan for an evening offline.

The short answer
In the cities and on the main roads, yes. Morocco's 4G network is fast across Marrakech, Fes, Casablanca, Rabat and Tangier, and good riads have free Wi-Fi. Signal thins in the High Atlas passes and the deep Sahara. Most luxury desert camps have little or no Wi-Fi by design, so plan for an evening offline.

In more detail
The simplest set-up is an eSIM, bought and installed at home before you fly, set to switch on when you land. It connects to one of the three national networks: Maroc Telecom, Orange or Inwi. Maroc Telecom has the broadest rural and desert coverage, so it is the one to choose if the trip includes the Atlas or the south.
Your phone must be unlocked and eSIM-compatible. A local prepaid SIM bought at the airport with your passport works too. WhatsApp is how riads, guides, drivers and camps keep in touch in Morocco, so make sure it works on your Moroccan number or data.

At Erg Chebbi near Merzouga there is some signal at the dune edge and in the village. Erg Chigaga is more remote and has very little. Download offline maps and anything you need before you leave the last town.

Good to know
- Five to ten gigabytes is plenty for maps, messages and photos over two weeks.
