Couple questions: Honeymoon planning
What should we pack for a Morocco honeymoon?
Pack in layers rather than outfits. Bring light linen and cotton, something that covers shoulders and knees for the medinas, comfortable closed shoes for uneven lanes, and a warm layer for desert and mountain evenings. Add a European two-pin plug adaptor, your medicines in their original boxes, and less luggage than you think.

The short answer
Pack in layers rather than outfits. Bring light linen and cotton, something that covers shoulders and knees for the medinas, comfortable closed shoes for uneven lanes, and a warm layer for desert and mountain evenings. Add a European two-pin plug adaptor, your medicines in their original boxes, and less luggage than you think.

In more detail
Morocco moves from coast to mountain to desert, sometimes within three days, so layers do the work. In summer, pack breathable linen and cotton, a wide-brimmed hat and high-factor sun cream. In winter, pack as for a cool European autumn, with a warm layer for the evenings, which fall to about 5 to 10°C in Marrakech.
For the medinas, our guide suggests covering shoulders and knees, for both partners. A linen shirt or soft trousers does it and also looks right on a riad terrace. Choose closed-toe shoes with a good sole, because the lanes are uneven and often damp in the cooler months. Leave heels at home.

Travel light. Riads usually offer quick laundry, a medium case is ample for two weeks, and narrow riad stairs and desert transfers are easier with less. Some things are better bought in Morocco, such as leather babouches or a cotton djellaba for cool evenings.

Good to know
- Morocco uses European type C and E plugs at 220V. Most phone and laptop chargers only need an adaptor.
- Download offline maps before you fly. GPS can struggle in the tight medina lanes.
