Our golf notes name Royal Golf de Marrakech, Amelkis, PalmGolf Ourika and Al Maaden around Marrakech, each with the mountains on the horizon and olive groves or palms framing the holes. In Rabat, Royal Golf Dar Es Salaam is the most celebrated course in the country.
Agadir is the sunniest golf base, with several courses between the Atlantic and the Souss plain, and sea breezes keep it pleasant through the winter. In Marrakech and Rabat, autumn to spring is the best time to play; in summer, rounds are best taken early in the morning to stay ahead of the heat.
For a honeymoon, golf works best as one morning rather than the shape of the trip, so the non-golfer is not left waiting. A round at a Marrakech course pairs well with a spa afternoon, and a coastal stay in Agadir can mix golf, the beach and Taroudant nearby.
