Couple questions: Honeymoon planning
Can we fit the Sahara into a 7-day Morocco honeymoon?
Yes, but the Sahara then takes most of the week. A 7-day honeymoon with the desert usually means two or three nights in Marrakech, a night on the kasbah road and two nights at a camp. There is no room left for the coast. If you want city, desert and sea, a 10-day honeymoon fits far better.

The short answer
Yes, but the Sahara then takes most of the week. A 7-day honeymoon with the desert usually means two or three nights in Marrakech, a night on the kasbah road and two nights at a camp. There is no room left for the coast. If you want city, desert and sea, a 10-day honeymoon fits far better.

In more detail
Our honeymoon guide sets out a 7-day desert shape: two nights in Marrakech for the riad, a hammam and a medina dinner; one night over the Atlas near Aït Ben Haddou; two nights at a luxury desert camp; and a last night back in Marrakech. It works, and the desert nights are what most couples remember.
The cost is time on the road. Merzouga is about nine hours from Marrakech by car, which we split with an overnight, and the return is long too. Our 7-day honeymoon itinerary skips the Sahara for exactly that reason and pairs Marrakech with the High Atlas and Essaouira instead.

So choose by what matters more. For dunes and stars, take the desert week. For a slower, gentler week, take the Atlas and the coast. For both, give it ten days: our 10-day itinerary has two nights at a Sahara camp and two on the Atlantic.
