Couple questions: Proposals and anniversaries
Can you propose in the Sahara desert?
Yes. A private dinner on the dunes at a Sahara camp is one of the most requested settings for a proposal: a table on the sand, firelight, music if you want it and a very dark sky. We arrange it as part of a desert stay of one or two nights, and the camp team keeps it quiet until the moment.

The short answer
Yes. A private dinner on the dunes at a Sahara camp is one of the most requested settings for a proposal: a table on the sand, firelight, music if you want it and a very dark sky. We arrange it as part of a desert stay of one or two nights, and the camp team keeps it quiet until the moment.

In more detail
The Sahara is a journey, not a day trip. Erg Chebbi near Merzouga is about nine hours from Marrakech by car, split with an overnight, and Erg Chigaga is further, by private 4x4 from M'Hamid. So a desert proposal sits inside a trip of several days, which also gives you the road through the Atlas and the kasbahs.
There are two moments that work best. Sunset on a dune crest near camp, which our 10-day honeymoon itinerary sets up privately for two, and the candlelit dinner afterwards. Some couples choose sunrise instead: quieter, colder and very still.

Tell us in advance and we will brief the camp: where the table goes, whether you want a musician, a cake or a bottle waiting, and whether a photographer should be discreetly nearby. At an exclusive-use camp, such as the one on our Erg Chigaga trip, there are no other guests at all.
