Couple questions: Food and romance
Can you have a private table for two in the Sahara?
Yes. A luxury camp can set a single table for the two of you away from the other guests, often on a dune crest, with a path of lanterns, a fire pit and blankets for the cold. Music can play softly nearby. We arrange this with the camp before you travel.

The short answer
Yes. A luxury camp can set a single table for the two of you away from the other guests, often on a dune crest, with a path of lanterns, a fire pit and blankets for the cold. Music can play softly nearby. We arrange this with the camp before you travel.

In more detail
The camp dinner is usually served at a shared table or in the camp's dining tent. The private version moves the same meal out onto the sand. Our dining guide calls it the rare dinner that needs nothing added.
It works at both main dune seas. Erg Chebbi, reached through Merzouga, is the easier one to get to. Erg Chigaga, beyond M'Hamid, is remoter and quieter, and you reach it by 4x4 across the piste.

Our special-occasions guide names a table on the dunes as a setting for an anniversary or a proposal. Gnaoua or Amazigh musicians can play nearby, or you can keep the evening silent. Tell us which you want.
One night gives you the essence: sunset on the dunes, dinner and a dawn ride. A second night adds a full day in the erg to explore, or simply to be still together.

Good to know
- Book the private table at the same time as the camp. It is set up in advance.
- Ask for Gnaoua music or silence when you book the table.
- Dress warmly. Desert nights drop sharply after sunset.
