Couple questions: Proposals and anniversaries
Where is the best place to propose in Morocco?
The settings couples ask us for most are a private dinner in the Sahara dunes, a rooftop at sunset over the Marrakech medina, a riad or garden courtyard, a terrace in the High Atlas, and the Atlantic coast at Essaouira. The best one is the one that fits the two of you, and the moment can be kept private.

The short answer
The settings couples ask us for most are a private dinner in the Sahara dunes, a rooftop at sunset over the Marrakech medina, a riad or garden courtyard, a terrace in the High Atlas, and the Atlantic coast at Essaouira. The best one is the one that fits the two of you, and the moment can be kept private.

In more detail
The desert is the classic. A table set on the sand at a camp, a fire, music if you want it and a sky thick with stars: our special-occasions notes list it first for proposals and anniversaries. The dunes are a multi-day trip from Marrakech, so it works best inside a longer journey.
In Marrakech, a rooftop at sunset with the Koutoubia minaret in view is the easiest setting to arrange, and a riad courtyard with candles is the most private. In the High Atlas, a lodge terrace facing the peaks gives you quiet and mountain light. On the coast, the Essaouira ramparts at dusk or a table above the ocean suit couples who love the sea.

When you tell us about a proposal, our enquiry form asks which of these settings you have in mind, or lets you say you are not sure yet and want our advice. Tell us what your partner loves and we will suggest the setting and the timing.
