Couple questions: Proposals and anniversaries
Can you renew your vows in Morocco?
Yes, as a symbolic ceremony. We arrange vow renewals in the dunes at a desert camp or in a riad courtyard, with a private dinner, a cake or champagne, a photographer or a musician. A vow renewal in Morocco is a celebration, not a legal act: any legal marriage is done at home.

The short answer
Yes, as a symbolic ceremony. We arrange vow renewals in the dunes at a desert camp or in a riad courtyard, with a private dinner, a cake or champagne, a photographer or a musician. A vow renewal in Morocco is a celebration, not a legal act: any legal marriage is done at home.

In more detail
A vow renewal is one of the occasions we plan most often for anniversaries. Our 14-day anniversary tour notes say it is the most popular choice for a significant anniversary or a vow renewal, with private dinners, a desert celebration and a photographer woven around the occasion.
The two settings that work best are a dune crest at sunset near a Sahara camp, and a candlelit riad courtyard in Marrakech or Fes. Our anniversary notes also mention smaller touches, such as a calligrapher writing out the date. You can keep it to the two of you or invite family and friends.

Be clear on one point when you plan: the ceremony is symbolic. It has no legal standing in Morocco, and we do not arrange legal marriages. If you are marrying for the first time, complete the legal formalities at home and celebrate here. Tell us the occasion when you enquire. We plan the ceremony, the setting and the dinner discreetly into the itinerary, so the day itself needs nothing from you but turning up.
