Couple questions: Weddings and celebrations
Can foreigners get married in Morocco?
The usual answer is to marry legally at home and celebrate in Morocco. Most international couples complete the legal marriage at home, at a registry or civil ceremony, then hold a symbolic ceremony in Morocco. We arrange celebrations and symbolic ceremonies only, not the legal marriage. Rules for foreign nationals vary by nationality, so ask official authorities and your embassy.

The short answer
The usual answer is to marry legally at home and celebrate in Morocco. Most international couples complete the legal marriage at home, at a registry or civil ceremony, then hold a symbolic ceremony in Morocco. We arrange celebrations and symbolic ceremonies only, not the legal marriage. Rules for foreign nationals vary by nationality, so ask official authorities and your embassy.

In more detail
Any rules for foreigners marrying in Morocco cover documents, translations, authentication and procedures, and they differ from one nationality to the next. We do not list them, because they change and because getting them wrong has serious consequences. Anything you read about Moroccan marriage law, on this page or anywhere else, is a prompt to check, not the final word.
That is why the common route is simpler. You marry at a registry office or in a civil ceremony at home, before or after the trip. Then you hold the wedding you actually picture in Morocco, with the riad or the desert camp, the feast, the music and your guests, as a symbolic ceremony with no legal formalities attached to the day.

If you are thinking about anything other than the home-first route, do not rely on a travel page. Speak to official Moroccan authorities and your own embassy or consulate first. In Morocco we arrange celebrations and symbolic ceremonies, not the legal marriage itself, and we plan the trip and the celebration around whatever you decide.

Good to know
- Ask your embassy or consulate what your nationality needs before you fix a date.
- Book the registry at home early, alongside the Morocco venue.
- Treat any general guidance on Moroccan marriage law as something to verify.
