Couple questions: Honeymoon planning
Is a long weekend in Marrakech enough for a honeymoon?
It can be, if you keep the plan small. Our three-day romantic Marrakech weekend gives one focus a day: a palace riad, a private medina and gardens guide with a couples' hammam, then Jardin Majorelle and a long lunch. It works well as a mini-moon, an anniversary, or an add-on to a longer trip. It will not reach the desert.

The short answer
It can be, if you keep the plan small. Our three-day romantic Marrakech weekend gives one focus a day: a palace riad, a private medina and gardens guide with a couples' hammam, then Jardin Majorelle and a long lunch. It works well as a mini-moon, an anniversary, or an add-on to a longer trip. It will not reach the desert.

In more detail
Day one is arrival at a palace riad inside the medina, with time to settle in. Day two brings a private guide through the medina and gardens, then a couples' hammam in the afternoon. Day three is Jardin Majorelle and a final long lunch before the flight home.
We add the romantic touches on request, such as a rose-petal turndown, a candlelit rooftop dinner or a couples' spa afternoon. Staying inside the medina gives the most atmosphere, and everything is private and chauffeured.

What a weekend cannot do is the Sahara. The drive from Marrakech to Merzouga is about 8 hours 30 minutes each way. If a short trip needs a taste of the desert, the Agafay is about 40 minutes from the city and fits an evening: a desert sunset, a camp and a candlelit dinner, then back to the riad.

Good to know
- Direct flights from much of Europe make a Friday-to-Monday trip realistic.
