Couple questions: Food and romance
What time is dinner in Morocco?
Later than in northern Europe. Dinner usually starts from 8pm, and many Moroccans sit down at 9 or 10. Lunch runs from about 12:30 to 3pm. The better riads serve dinner by reservation, often from 7:30pm. During Ramadan, restaurants open at sunset for iftar and fill at once.

The short answer
Later than in northern Europe. Dinner usually starts from 8pm, and many Moroccans sit down at 9 or 10. Lunch runs from about 12:30 to 3pm. The better riads serve dinner by reservation, often from 7:30pm. During Ramadan, restaurants open at sunset for iftar and fill at once.

In more detail
For a honeymoon, the timing works in your favour. A late lunch in the shade, a rest through the heat, a sunset drink on the roof and then dinner is the natural rhythm of a Marrakech day.
A private dinner in your riad has no fixed sitting at all. You choose the hour, which suits couples who want to linger at the hammam or arrive late from a day trip.

For restaurants outside your riad, we hold your tables in advance, so timing is not something you have to manage.
On a desert night the rhythm flips. Wake-up calls come at about 5:30am so you can climb a dune before sunrise, which makes an early night after dinner and music by the fire worth it.

Good to know
- Book a table for around sunset if you want the light.
- Eat earlier on the night before an early desert start.
- Leave time after a hammam before a dinner reservation.
