Couple questions: Honeymoon planning
Can you combine Morocco and Spain on a honeymoon?
Yes, and the join is short. The Strait of Gibraltar is about 14 km wide at its narrowest. Fast ferries cross from Tarifa to Tangier in about 35 minutes, and from Algeciras in about an hour. Direct flights also link Madrid, Barcelona, Málaga and Seville with Marrakech, Casablanca, Fes and Tangier in about 1.5 to 2.5 hours.

The short answer
Yes, and the join is short. The Strait of Gibraltar is about 14 km wide at its narrowest. Fast ferries cross from Tarifa to Tangier in about 35 minutes, and from Algeciras in about an hour. Direct flights also link Madrid, Barcelona, Málaga and Seville with Marrakech, Casablanca, Fes and Tangier in about 1.5 to 2.5 hours.
In more detail
The easiest pairing is southern Spain with northern Morocco. Cross by ferry to Tangier, then build a northern loop: Tangier, Chefchaouen and Fes. Tangier to Chefchaouen is about 2 hours by road, and Chefchaouen to Fes about 3 hours 30 minutes. From Tangier, the Al Boraq high-speed train reaches Casablanca in about 2 hours.
Tangier itself suits the start of a combined trip. It looks across the strait to Spain, has a restored kasbah and a literary past, and is a calmer first night than Marrakech.

If the Spanish half of the trip is in Madrid or Barcelona, flying is simpler than the ferry. Direct flights reach Marrakech in under three hours, which opens the south: the Sahara, the High Atlas and Essaouira. Allow at least a week in Morocco if you want the desert as well as the cities.
