Couple questions: Romantic places
Is Tangier good for a honeymoon?
It is good for part of one. Tangier, where the Atlantic meets the Mediterranean, has a hilltop kasbah, a whitewashed medina, clifftop cafes over the strait and a long literary history. Most couples give it a night or two at the start of a northern route, with Chefchaouen about 2 hours away and Asilah down the coast.

The short answer

In more detail
Our notes describe a city of layered history: a kasbah on the highest point of the old town, the Petit Socco square once haunted by writers and artists, and the American Legation Museum. The Terrasse des Paresseux and the terraced Cafe Hafa look across the Strait of Gibraltar, and on clear days you can see Spain.
Just outside the city, the Cap Spartel lighthouse marks the headland where the two seas meet, and the Caves of Hercules open onto the Atlantic below. Achakar beach nearby is a place for long walks and an ocean sunset.

A full day covers the kasbah, the medina and the cape. For a honeymoon, Tangier works best as the gateway to the north. Tangier to Chefchaouen is about 110 km, or 2 hours, and Tangier to Fes about 3 hours by road, which makes a calm northern loop of blue lanes, mountains and coast.
