Couple questions: Romantic places
Is Taroudant worth visiting on a honeymoon?
Yes, for couples who like Marrakech but want it quieter. Taroudant is a walled market town in the Souss valley, often called little Marrakech, with ochre ramparts, two calm souks and the Atlas on either side. It sits inland from Agadir, roughly 80 km, so it pairs well with a coast stay. One or two nights is enough.

The short answer
Yes, for couples who like Marrakech but want it quieter. Taroudant is a walled market town in the Souss valley, often called little Marrakech, with ochre ramparts, two calm souks and the Atlas on either side. It sits inland from Agadir, roughly 80 km, so it pairs well with a coast stay. One or two nights is enough.

In more detail
Our notes describe a largely intact circuit of rammed-earth walls, about six kilometres around the old town, that glow gold, rose and red as the sun drops. A horse-drawn caleche ride around the outside of the ramparts in the late afternoon is the classic way to see them, and an easy, unhurried hour for two.
Inside, the Arab and Berber souks are busy with everyday Souss life rather than heavy tourist crowds. You can watch brass and silver being worked by hand, sit over mint tea on Place Assarag, or visit the courtyard gardens of a former pasha's residence built into the walls.

With a second day, drive out to the Tiout oasis and its hilltop kasbah, or visit a women's argan co-operative. Taroudant suits the slower end of a trip, between Agadir's beaches and the Anti-Atlas, rather than a Marrakech and Sahara loop.
