Couple questions: Romantic places
Is a helicopter flight worth it on a Morocco honeymoon?
It can be, for a special moment or to save a long drive. Private flights from Marrakech sweep over the High Atlas and can carry on to the dunes, sometimes landing for tea among the peaks or the sand. A helicopter can also replace a full day on mountain roads to a desert camp. Routes depend on weather and permits.

The short answer
It can be, for a special moment or to save a long drive. Private flights from Marrakech sweep over the High Atlas and can carry on to the dunes, sometimes landing for tea among the peaks or the sand. A helicopter can also replace a full day on mountain roads to a desert camp. Routes depend on weather and permits.

In more detail
Our aviation notes list several uses. A scenic flight from Marrakech traces the valleys and Berber villages up to the snow line. A flight over Erg Chebbi or the Agafay shows the scale of the desert in a way no drive can. And a short hop links Marrakech with Essaouira or the Agadir coast, leaving the afternoon free for the sea.
The most romantic version combines the flight with the destination: arrive at a private desert camp or a remote estate by helicopter for a candlelit dinner under the stars, then return the next day. Some scenic flights pause at a high plateau or village in the Atlas so you can step out and take tea with a Berber family.

Whether it is worth it depends on your route. Marrakech to Merzouga is about 8 hours 30 minutes by road, so a flight to a Sahara airstrip can give back a whole day. Everything is arranged in advance and subject to weather and permits, so we always keep a road plan in reserve.
