Couple questions: Honeymoon planning
Which airport should we fly into for a Morocco honeymoon?
For most honeymoons, Marrakech (RAK). It is the closest airport to the High Atlas, the Agafay, Essaouira and the road to the Sahara, and has direct flights from many European cities. Casablanca (CMN) is the main long-haul hub. Fes (FEZ) and Tangier (TNG) suit a northern route through the imperial cities and Chefchaouen.

The short answer
For most honeymoons, Marrakech (RAK). It is the closest airport to the High Atlas, the Agafay, Essaouira and the road to the Sahara, and has direct flights from many European cities. Casablanca (CMN) is the main long-haul hub. Fes (FEZ) and Tangier (TNG) suit a northern route through the imperial cities and Chefchaouen.

In more detail
Start from the shape of the trip. A honeymoon built around Marrakech, the mountains, the desert and the coast works best flying into Marrakech. A northern route through Tangier, Chefchaouen and Fes works best into Tangier or Fes, flying home from Marrakech or Casablanca.
From North America, Royal Air Maroc flies nonstop from New York, Washington, Boston and Miami to Casablanca in around 7 to 8 hours. From Casablanca it is a short hop or a private transfer of about 2 hours 30 minutes to Marrakech. From the UK, direct flights reach Marrakech, Fes, Agadir and Tangier in about 3.5 hours.

Flying into one city and out of another saves a long drive back. A loop from Marrakech through the Sahara to Fes, for example, can end with a flight home from Fes.

Good to know
- Book a flight-tracked private transfer so a driver is waiting at arrivals whatever the delay.
