Couple questions: Honeymoon planning
Where are the best places for couple photos in Morocco?
The classics are the dunes of Erg Chebbi in the first hour after sunrise, Aït Ben Haddou at dawn from the far riverbank, Chefchaouen's blue lanes early in the morning, and Jemaa el-Fnaa at sunset and blue hour. The trick is timing. A private driver-guide gets you there when the light is good and the crowds are thin.

The short answer
The classics are the dunes of Erg Chebbi in the first hour after sunrise, Aït Ben Haddou at dawn from the far riverbank, Chefchaouen's blue lanes early in the morning, and Jemaa el-Fnaa at sunset and blue hour. The trick is timing. A private driver-guide gets you there when the light is good and the crowds are thin.

In more detail
Our photography guides build the day around the light. Erg Chebbi at Merzouga is at its best in the hour after sunrise, with long shadows and deep orange sand, reached on a private dawn ride before day visitors arrive. Aït Ben Haddou glows at first light and again in late afternoon, seen from the opposite bank.
Chefchaouen photographs best from mid-morning, before the tour buses, and in the warm light of late afternoon. In Marrakech, Jemaa el-Fnaa comes alive at sunset and in the blue hour after, and a riad rooftop gives quieter frames over the medina.

For photos of the two of you, many couples add a professional photographer or a local photo-guide for part of the trip. Always ask before photographing local people, and respect a no.

Good to know
- Phone cameras do well in Moroccan light, so you do not need heavy gear.
- In the desert, keep cameras in a sealed bag and change lenses as little as possible.
