Couple questions: Honeymoon planning
Is autumn a good time for a Morocco honeymoon?
Yes. September to November is one of the two best seasons for a Morocco honeymoon. The summer heat has broken, the crowds thin, and October is often named with April as the best month in Marrakech. Autumn is also prime Sahara season, with warm days and cool, clear nights. September is still hot in the desert, so October and November are safer.

The short answer

In more detail
In Marrakech, September is still warm at about 28 to 32°C, but October and November settle at about 20 to 26°C by day. That is good walking weather for the medina and comfortable for an evening on a rooftop.
In the Sahara, October and November bring days of about 25 to 30°C, cool nights and golden light on the dunes, after the summer crowds have gone. September is a shoulder month: it improves a lot in its second half, but midday can still reach 35 to 40°C.

Fes is at its best in September and October too, and the coast holds its sea warmth into autumn. Our packing guide suggests packing as for spring and adding a mid-layer fleece from October, because desert and mountain nights get cold.

Good to know
- October is peak season in Marrakech, so book riads and the desert camp early.
