Couple questions: Food and romance
Is Oualidia good for a romantic oyster lunch?
Yes. Oualidia is a small, quiet town on a sheltered tidal lagoon between El Jadida and Safi, and it is known across Morocco for its oysters. Fresh oysters and seafood eaten beside the lagoon they came from are the point of a stay. Our coastal honeymoon includes an oyster lunch on the deck.

The short answer

In more detail
A sandbar separates the lagoon from the open Atlantic. The calm, protected water feeds the oyster beds and also gives gentle swimming away from the surf.
It is a retreat, not a scene. The refined stays trade on calm and privacy, with lagoon-view rooms, a spa and a terrace over the water. Flamingos and migratory birds use the wetlands, so a quiet boat trip fits between lunch and dinner.

Oualidia sits on the road between Marrakech and Casablanca. That makes it a calm last night before a flight from Casablanca, or a pairing with Essaouira for a slow week on the coast.
Our five-day coastal honeymoon spends two nights in Oualidia in a sea-view suite, with an oyster lunch on the deck, a private boat on the lagoon and a candlelit seafood dinner above the water.

Good to know
- Book a private boat on the lagoon for the afternoon.
- Go in spring or autumn for warm, settled days.
- If one of you does not eat shellfish, grilled fish is always on.
